Solution

The reason for the error code

Possible explanations for the printer error include packing material that hasn't been removed and/or an obstruction in the paper feed path.

Actions you can take

Remove the packing material.
Remove jammed paper and any obstruction in the paper feed path.
- Paper is stuck in the paper output slot
  Try to remove it from the transport unit inside the printer.
- No paper stuck in the transport unit
  Check into removing a paper jam from behind the paper trays.
- Get details about other paper jam error codes and their resolutions
Clean the timing (encoder) strip inside the printer
If the above actions do not clear the error, turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Note: If you disconnect the power plug, all the faxes stored in the machine's memory are deleted.
