Load and print on large paper - MX922 (VIDEO) (TEXT)

Learn how to load large size paper for printing with your PIXMA MX922 printer.

Before you begin

About paper
  • Large size includes photo and plain paper in these sizes: letter, legal, A4, B5, A5, 8" x 10" (20 x 25 cm).
  • When you select one of these sizes in the print settings, your printer will automatically feed from the lower tray.
  • We recommend Canon genuine photo paper for printing photos. For details, refer to Media Types You Can Use.

  1. Align the edges of the paper. Flatten if curled.

    • Loading paper without aligning the edges may cause paper jams.
    • If paper is curled, hold the curled corners and gently bend them in the opposite direction until the paper becomes completely flat.
    • Do not try to flatten Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss SG-201. Instead load one sheet at a time as it is. If you roll up this paper to flatten, this may cause cracks on the surface of the paper and reduce the print quality.
  2. Pull out the lower paper tray (cassette).

  3. Slide the paper guides (A) and (B) to open (see image in step 4 below).
  4. Place the paper stack in the center of the paper tray with print side facing down (3).
Note: Align the paper stack with the edge of the tray, but it should not be touching the tab (C) (see image below).
  5. Align the front paper guide (A) with the paper stack (see image in step 6).
Note: For standard sizes, the paper guide (A) should click into place.
  6. Slide the side paper guides (B) to align with sides of the paper stack.
    • If the guides are too tight against the paper, paper may not feed properly.
    • Do not load sheets of paper higher than the load limit mark (D).
    • Keep the paper stack height below the tabs (E) of the paper guides.
  7. Insert the lower paper tray into the printer, pushing it until it stops.
Note: The lower cassette sticks out of the machine when correctly set. Do not force the lower tray further into the printer.
  8. Open the paper output tray, by gently pulling on sides.

  9. Select the size and type of  paper in print settings on the printer operation panel or your computer's printer driver.
