Select the correct SSID (Network name) for using the printer via wireless LAN in a Windows environment

Solution

Verify the SSID (Network Name)

Check the printer Setting

  1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.

  2. Press the (Maintenance) button repeatedly until figure:LED appears on the LED, and then press the Black or Color button.

    The LAN setting information will print.


  3. Note the listing for SSID



Check the SSID on the computer

  1. Click the appropriate Network icon in the system tray

    Windows XP: Windows Vista: Windows 7:




  2. Note the SSID name (Network name).

    Windows XP:



    Windows Vista:




    Windows 7:






  3. Compare this with the SSID from the the Wireless LAN setting list of the printer. If it is different , connect to the same SSID as that of the printer.
