Select the correct SSID (Network name) for using the printer via wireless LAN in a Mac OS X environment

Solution

Verify the SSID (Network Name)

Check the printer Setting

  1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.

  2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper.

  1. Select  Setup on the HOME screen.

  2. Select Device settings, then use the OK button to confirm the selection.

    The Device settings screen is displayed.

  3. Use the UPDOWN button to select LAN settings, then press the OK button to confirm the selection.

  4. Use the UPDOWN button to select Confirm LAN settings, then press the OK button to confirm the selection.

  5. Use the UPDOWN button to select Print LAN details, then press the OK button to confirm the selection.

  6. Use the UPDOWN button to select Yes, then press the OK button to start printing.

    The machine starts printing the network setting information.

    The following information on the machine's network setting is printed out.

 



 

Check the SSID on the computer

  1. Click the Airport Icon

  2. Note the SSID name (the one with the check mark to the left).



  3. Compare this with the SSID from the the Wireless LAN setting list of the printer. If it is different , select (click) the same SSID as that of the printer.
