Solution

Follow these steps to successfully scan using your DR-2580C.

  1. Straighten the edges of the stack of documents to be scanned.

    - Do not place the documents on top of the scanner to align them. Doing so may cause a malfunction.
    - Be careful when placing a document in the scanner. It is possible to cut your hand on the edge of a sheet of paper.

  2. Set the document guides so they are wider than the document to be scanned.

Do not hold the tips of the document guide adaptors when moving them. Doing so can damage the document tray.

  3. Place the documents face up into the feed tray, so that they touch the stoppers.

There is a load limit mark on the document guides. Do not stack documents higher than this mark (approximately 50 sheets of 20 lb bond (80 g/m2) paper). Doing so may cause a paper jam.

Before starting a scan, make sure that the document is loaded in the scanner correctly. Scanning a curled document or a creased document can damage the document.

  4. Start scanning from the software application you are using to scan.  The scanner shipped with Capture Perfect if you have the CD.

If a green light is blinking on the scanner, it is because the rear door is open. Close the rear door to correct this issue.
