What do the battery indicator lights mean? (EOS 70D)

Solution

When you attach the battery securely and insert the prongs or the plug into a power outlet (see the images below), recharging starts automatically and the charge lamp turns orange.
When the battery is fully recharged, the charge lamp will turn green.

NOTE
It takes approx. 2.5 hours to fully recharge a completely exhausted battery at room temperature (23C / 73F). The time required to recharge the battery will vary greatly depending on the ambient temperature and the batterys remaining capacity.
For safety reasons, recharging in low temperatures (5C - 10C / 41F - 50F) will take longer (up to approx. 4 hours).
