Before you load paper in your PIXMA printer, there are a few things to know.
About paper
-
You can load plain paper or photo paper.
-
For the page size and paper weight you can use with this printer, see media types you can use.
-
We recommend Canon genuine photo paper for printing photos.
-
If you use paper cut into small sizes such as 4" x 6" (10 x 15 cm) or 5" x 7" (13 x 18 cm), it can cause paper jams.
How to load paper
-
If the paper is curled, bend the paper in the opposite direction of the curve to flatten it.

-
Open the paper support (1).
-
Pull out the paper output tray and the output tray extension (2).

-
Slide the paper guide (A) to the left, and load the paper against the far right of the rear tray with the print side facing you (3).
-
Slide the paper guide (A) to align it with the paper stack (4).
Don't slide the paper guide too hard against the paper. If you do, the paper may not be fed properly.

Always load paper in the portrait orientation (B). If you load it in landscape orientation (C), it can cause paper jams.

Don't load sheets of paper higher than the load limit mark (D).
The printer may make operating noise when feeding paper.
-
To print, select the size and type of the loaded paper on the print settings screen of the printer driver.
