About paper
Small size includes 4" x 6" or 5" x 7" photo paper, which fits in the upper paper tray.
We recommend Canon genuine photo paper for printing photos. For details, refer to approved media types.
Using hand-cut paper may cause a paper jam.
Load and print paper
Align the edges of the paper.
If the paper is curled, hold the curled corners and gently bend them in the opposite direction until the paper becomes completely flat.
Loading paper without aligning the edges may cause paper jams.
Don't try to flatten Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss SG-201. Instead, load one sheet at a time as is. If you roll up this paper to flatten it, it may crack on the surface of the paper and reduce the print quality.
Remove the upper paper tray (cassette).
Slide the paper guides (A) and (B) to open (see image in step 4 below).
Place the paper stack in the center of the paper tray print side facing down.
Align the paper stack with the edge of the tray, but it should not be touching the tabs (C).
Align the front paper guide (A) with the paper stack (see image in step 6 below).
For standard sizes, the paper guide (A) should click into place.
Slide the side paper guides (B) to align with sides of the paper stack.
If the guides are too tight against the paper it may not feed properly.
Don't load sheets of paper higher than the load limit mark (D).
Keep the paper stack height below the tabs (E) of the paper guides.
Insert the upper paper tray into the printer, pushing it all the way in.
Open the paper output tray, by gently pulling on the sides.
Select the size and type of paper in Print Settings on the printer operation panel or your computer's printer driver.
Print.
