Learn how to print and delete a document saved in the memory of your PIXMA MX722 or MX922 printer.

Solution


Receive to memory

  • Faxes are stored in memory if the machine is unable to print the received fax.
  • The FAX Memory light turns and and Received in memory is displayed on the printer's screen.
  • There are a several conditions that can cause faxes to be stored rather than printed:
    • The machine is set to store received faxes in memory: When Do not print is selected for Received documents in Auto print settings under FAX settings, the received faxes are stored in memory. You can print them from the Memory reference screen in the Fax menu.
    • There is an error in the machine. This could be caused by insufficient ink supply, no paper, paper of the wrong size, or because you pressed Stop.  If the ink supply is low, you can set the printer to print received faxes by adjusting the Print when out of ink setting.  This is located in Auto print settings under FAX settings.

Print the list of the documents (MEMORY LIST)

This can be useful after a power failure to discover what, if anything, was deleted when the power went out. 
  1. Turn on the machine and load paper. 
  2. Press FAX. The Fax standby screen is displayed.
  3. Press the left function button. The Fax menu screen is displayed.
  4. Select  Memory reference, then press OK. If no documents are stored in memory, There is no document in memory. is displayed. Press the OK button to return to the previous screen.
  5. If there are documents stored in memory, Use the up / down arrow buttons to select Print memory list, then press OK.
  6. A list is printed.

Print a document from memory

  1. Turn on the machine and load paper. 
  2. Press FAX. The Fax standby screen is displayed.
  3. Press the left function button. The Fax menu screen is displayed.
  4. Select  Memory reference, then press OK. 
  5. Use the up / down arrow buttons to scroll to Print specified document, then press OK.
    The document selection screen is displayed.

    1. The date and time of the transaction and fax telephone number.
    2. Shows the transaction number (TX/RX NO.) A transaction number from 0001 to 4999 is a sent document. A transaction number from 5001 to 9999 is a received document.
    3. Indicates if the fax is in color or is blank for black and white. 
  6. Scroll to the transaction number of the document you want to print, then press OK.
  7. On the confirmation page, select whether to print only the first page of the document, then press OK.
    • If you select No all pages of the document are printed.
  8. The screen to confirm whether to delete the printed document in the machine's memory is displayed.
    • If you select Yes, and then press OK, the printed document is removed from memory.
    • If you select Yes only the first page of the document is printed and the document remains in memory.

Print all the documents in memory

  1. Turn on the machine and load paper. 
  2. Press FAX. The Fax standby screen is displayed.
  3. Press the left function button. The Fax menu screen is displayed.
  4. Select  Memory reference, then press OK. 
  5. Use the up / down arrow buttons to scroll to Print all received documents, then press OK. The confirmation screen is displayed.
  6. Scroll to Yes, then press OK.
    • All the documents in memory are printed.
    • Each time a document is printed, the screen to confirm whether to delete the printed document from memory is displayed.
      If you select Yes with the  buttons and press OK, the printed document is deleted from memory.

Good to know

  • If the power plug is disconnected, all faxes stored in the machine's memory are deleted. The next time you turn the machine on, press the OK button after a confirmation screen is displayed. The list of the faxes deleted from the machine's memory prints.
  • The machine can store up to 250 pages or 30 documents in memory (ITU-T No.1 chart standard mode).
  • If the machine's memory becomes full during memory reception, only pages which already have been received are stored in the memory. Print the received faxes stored in the machine's memory or save them on the USB flash drive, delete them from the machine's memory, and have the sender resend the faxes.
