Load documents in the automatic feeder

1. Make sure there are no documents left on the glass surface of the printer.

2. Open the document tray.

   

3. Insert the document in the document tray with the side you want to scan facing up.
    You should hear a beep when the document is in position (unless the alarm is set to silent in device user settings).

4. Adjust the document guides to match the width of the document.

   

    Don't slide the guides too hard against the document. If you do, the document may not feed properly.

5. Your original document is ready to scan, fax, or copy.
    You can scan your document to a USB flash drive, a Windows PC, or a Mac^®.

• To scan a document at optimum quality, load it directly on the glass. Refer to understand how to place items to scan, copy, or fax.

• Learn more about the originals you can load.

• To learn how to scan single-sided originals to two-sided copies, refer to change settings to copy on two-sides.

• In the device user settings, you can select whether to print pages in reverse order (so the printed pages stack from first to last).
