Description

Learn what to do when your wirelessly connected PIXMA MX922 printer is not detected during software installation.

Solution

When you are installing the printer on a computer and you get the "Printer not detected" message, there are a few related problems with easy fixes.

Common reasons and how to fix them

  • Make sure the printer is turned on.

  • Check that the device you are printing from is connected to the same wireless network as the printer.

  • Your wireless router may have lost connection with the printer. You can usually resolve this by restarting the power on both the router and the printer.

  • Sometimes the printer driver on the computer is configured to a different port. Check the port settings.

  • Confirm the printer is connected to the correct network:

    • Check that the network name matches the one selected on the printer and the one on a Windows computer.

    • Check that the network name matches the one selected on the printer and the one on a Macintosh® computer.
