Changing the default settings on the Mac Printer Driver

Solution

Follow the instructions below to change the default printer driver settings on Mac. The options shown will vary by printer model and driver being used.

The MF8380Cdw is used in this example.

1. Open Safari and type in the following address http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/

2. Click the printer driver you wish to change the default on, in this example Canon_MF8300C_Series is selected.

 

The following screen is displayed.

 

3. In the right dropdown select [Set Default Options]. The following screen will be displayed.

  

4. Click on [General] at the top. The default settings ill be displayed.

 

5. Change any settings desired, then click the [Set Default Options] button at the bottom of the screen
