Description

Locate and resolve paper jams when the occur, in the PIXMA MG7120 printer.

Solution

If paper jams inside the printer, or if it tears and you can't remove it from the output slot, follow the steps below to clear the jam.

Clear a paper jam

  1. Select the Stop button to cancel all print jobs.

  2. Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord from the power supply.

  3. Open the operation panel (cover) all the way.

Don't touch the clear film (A) or the white belt (B). If your hand or the paper blots or scratch these parts, it can damage the machine.

  4. If paper is jammed under the print head holder, hold the top of the print head holder and move it to the right or left edge (whichever is easier to remove the paper).

  5. Grasp the paper with both hands and slowly pull it out. Keep the paper angled at about 45 degrees.

  6. Check the following to make sure all the paper is removed:

  • Is there any paper under the print head holder?

  • Are there any small pieces of paper inside the machine?

  • Is there any paper in the right or left side space (C) inside the machine?

  1. Slowly close the operation panel. Reprint any cancelled print jobs.

Good to know

  • Make sure to use the correct paper when you reload the tray.

  • If there is a message on the touch screen about a paper jam, there may still be some paper inside the machine. Follow the steps above to recheck the printer.
