Description

ISO 100 and ISO 25600 cannot be set (EOS 70D)

Solution

NOTE
Icons used on this page:
[ ]: Set-up tab 4

When [Highlight tone priority] under the [ ] tab on your camera is set to [Enable], the settable range will be ISO 200 - ISO 12800 (up to ISO 6400 for movies), so "ISO 100" or "H"(Still photo: equivalent to ISO 25600, Movie: equivalent to ISO 12800) cannot be selected.

If you wish to make the "ISO 100" or "H"(Still: equivalent to ISO 25600, Movie: equivalent to ISO 12800) setting (ISO expansion), change the setting as follows.

Select [Disable] to change the [Highlight tone priority] setting

1. Set the cameras power switch to <ON>.

2. Press the <MENU> button to display the menu screen.

3. Select [Highlight tone priority] under the [ ] tab and press < >.

4. Select [Disable] and press <>.

Pressing the shutter button half way will prepare the camera for shooting.
Check the the viewfinder and the LCD panel to make sure that [D+] (visible when highlight tone priority is set) is not displayed.
NOTE
Highlight tone priority
  • With [Enable] Highlight details are improved. The dynamic range is expanded from the standard 18% gray to bright highlights. The gradation between the grays and highlights becomes smoother.
  • With [Enable], the Auto Lighting Optimizer is automatically set to [Disable] and the setting cannot be changed. When [Highlight tone priority] is set to [Disable], the Auto Lighting Optimizer will revert to its original setting.
  • With [Enable], image noise (graininess and banding, etc.) may increase slightly more than with [Disable].
