If the print lines are uneven or otherwise unsatisfactory, you can perform a print head aligment from your Windows PC.
To align the print head, you will first print, then scan the alignment sheet.
Print the alignment sheet
-
Open the printer driver setup window on your Windows PC.
-
Select Print Head Alignment on the Maintenance tab. The Start Print Head Alignment dialog box opens.
-
Turn the printer ON and load one sheet of clean, white A4 or Letter size plain paper into the rear tray.
-
Select Align Print Head. The pattern prints.
Don't open the cover while the sheet prints.

Scan the alignment sheet
-
Place the printed sheet on the glass surface of the printer and press the Start button on the machine.
-
Print head alignment starts. Wait for the printing to stop. This may take a few minutes.
The alignment process is complete. To print and check the current setting, open the Start Print Head Alignment dialog box on your computer, and select Print Alignment Value.
Additional steps (if needed)
If print results aren't satisfactory after the automatic alignment, you can perform a manual print head alignment.
If aligning the print head automatically or manually doesn't improve the print results, you can clean the encoder film.
