Description
Find out how to interpret and resolve the flashing lights on your PIXMA MG2420 or MG2520.
Solution
When a printer error occurs, a support code (error number) and a message display on the computer screen. In addition, the lamp(s) flash.
The lamps flash in one of two ways

Repeatedly orange - see Table 1 below.

Alternately green then orange - see Table 2 below. (Theses errors are generally unrecoverable and indicate that the printer may require service.)
If you can't find the appropriate error in the table below, refer to the Online Manual.
If the error isn't resolved, service is required.

9 flashes | The protective material for the ink cartridge or the tape remains attached. | Check the inside of the machine. If the protective material or the tape is still attached, remove it. | 1890 |
11 flashes | Specialty paper is too wide. |
Press the Stop button to cancel printing. Change the media type or paper size setting, then print again. Correct media settings:

12 flashes | Premium Contents print error. |

13 flashes | The ink may have run out. | The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled since the ink level can't be correctly detected.

15 flashes | The FINE cartridge can't be recognized. | Replace the ink cartridge. |
