Setting the default scanning program for scanning from the operation panel (Windows 7)(MF8000 Series/MF8200 Series/ MF8300 Series/MF8500 Series)

Solution

 

1. Click (Start).

2. Select [Devices and Printers].

3. Right click on the icon for the device and select [Scan Properties].

4. Click the [Events] tab.

 

5. Select the event you wish to change the preset for.

Choices are:

  • Color Scan
  • B&W Scan
  • Custom 1
  • Custom 2

6. Select the Action you wish to perform for the event.

Choices are:

  • Start this program - The program selected in the drop down will start. Your choices will vary by the software installed on your computer.
  • Prompt for which program to run - A list of programs will pop up when the event is started. Your choices will vary by the software installed on your computer.
  • Take no action - The computer will not respond.

The Canon scan Utility MF Toolbox will be an option for "Start this program" and "Prompt for which program to run" if it is installed. The version number will vary based on what is loaded.
