You can delete those scenes and stories that you are not interested in keeping. Deleting scenes allows you also to free up space on the memory.
IMPORTANT
- Be careful when deleting recordings. Once deleted, recordings cannotbe recovered.
- Save copies of important recordings before deleting them .
- Observe the following precautions while the ACCESS indicator is on or flashing (while recordings are being deleted).
- Do not open the memory card slot cover.
- Do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder.
- Do not change the camcorders operating mode.
- Photos that were protected with other devices cannot be deleted with this camcorder.
- To delete all recordings and make all recordable space available again you may prefer to initialize the memory.

Deleting Scenes from the [AVCHD Movies] or [MP4 Movies] Index Screen
1. Turn on the camcorder.
2. Press <  > to set the camcorder to Playback mode.
3. Open the index screen containing the scene you want to delete.
4. Touch [Edit].
5. Touch [Delete].
6. Select the desired option.
| date* | Delete all the scenes recorded on the date shown in the control button. |
| [Select] | Select individual scenes to delete. |
| [All Scenes] | Delete all the scenes. |
*For MP4 movies, the folder name will appear. The last four digits of the folder name indicate the date the folder was created.
NOTE
- When you select [Select], perform the following procedure to select the individual scenes you want to delete before touching [Yes].
- A checkmark  will appear on the scenes you touch. The total number of selected scenes will appear next to the  icon. - To remove all checkmarks at once, touch [Remove All] > [Yes].
- After selecting all the desired scenes, touch [OK].
7. Select [Yes].
Touch [Stop] to interrupt the operation while it is in progress. Some scenes may be deleted nevertheless.
8. Touch [OK].
Deleting a Single Scene 1. Turn on the camcorder.
2. Press < > to set the camcorder to Playback mode.
3. Play back the scene you want to delete.
4. Touch the screen to display the playback controls.
Touch [  ].
5. Touch [Edit].
6. Touch [Delete].
7. Touch [Yes].
8. Touch [OK].
