Follow the steps below to switch the connection from a USB to a Wi-Fi® from a Windows or Mac® computer.
Before you begin
Is the computer (B) you want to use to print from connected to a wireless router (A)? If you're not sure, to browse the internet to make sure the computer is connected to Wi-Fi.
Once you verify the wireless connection on your computer, refer to the Windows or Mac section below.
Switch to wireless from a Windows PC

Quit all running applications.

Log on to your computer as an administrator.

Insert the setup CD or download the installation file.

Double-click on Run Msetup4.exe on the AutoPlay screen, then select Yes or Continue. If the CD doesn't start up, double-click on (My) Computer > CD icon > MSETUP4.EXE.
If the User Account Control dialog box reappears at any point, select Yes or Continue.

Select Change Connection Method.The setup instructions for a printer connection display. You should already be connected, so select Next until you see the screen below.

Tap Next and follow any on-screen instructions to proceed with the software installation.

When the Setup Completion dialog box appears, tap Complete.

Tap Next.

Tap Exit to complete the installation. Remove the Setup CD. The printer connection method changes from USB to wireless in your Windows computer.

Switch to wireless from a Mac
Quit all running applications.
If you use macOS® version 10.12 or later, the software mentioned in Step 1 won't run on your computer. Go to the support page for your printer (MG3520 / MG3522), and download / install the IJ Network Tool. Then follow the instructions to set up your printer for wireless use.

Quit all running applications.

Go to this webpage, then select Download.

Double-click the downloaded .dmg file.

Double-click the Setup icon.

Select Next.

Enter the administrator name and password. Then select Install Helper.

Select Change Connection Method.

Follow the instructions until the screen below displays.
If you see instructions for connecting to wireless, you don't need to do it again. Select the connection method you used in Step 1 above and skip through the instructions until you see the screen below.

Tap Next. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue with the software installation.

Select Add Printer.

The alphanumeric characters after Canon xxx series is the machine's Bonjour service name or MAC address.
If the machine isn't detected, check the items below:

Is the printer turned on?
-
Is the firewall function of your security software turned off?
-
Is your computer connected to the wireless router?

Select Canon xxx series Canon IJ Network, then Add.

If you install the Canon printer driver on Mac OS X® and use the printer through a network connection, you can select Bonjour or Canon IJ Network in the Add Printer dialog.

If Bonjour is selected, ink level messages may differ from those indicated by Canon IJ Network.

Canon recommends that you use Canon IJ Network.

Tap Next.

Tap Next.

Tap Exit to complete the installation. Remove the Setup CD.

The printer connection is now set as wireless on your Mac.
