The lens makes a soft noise whenever the lens is focused.
You can sometimes hear a soft hum from the lens. This hum will last for about 6 Seconds unless you are keeping the focus butt depressed or the shutter button depressed half way down.
After the 6 Seconds the same noise that was heard when the focus was activated may be heard again as the image stabilizer shuts down.
