Mirror lockup is enabled with C.Fn-12. This prevents mirror-caused vibrations which may blur the image during close-ups or when a super telephoto lens is used. When mirror lockup is set, the camera operates as follows.
- When using mirror lockup, Remote Switch RS-80N3 (sold separately) is recommended
|
Press the shutter button completely
- The mirror locks up and after 30 seconds, it will go back down automatically. Pressing the shutter button completely again locks up the mirror again
Release the shutter button and press the shutter button completely again to take the picture
- The picture is taken and then the mirror goes back down
|
- In very bright light such as at the beach of ski ground on a sunny day, take the picture promptly after mirror lockup
- During mirror lockup, do no point the camera lens at the sun. The sun's heat can scorch and damage the shutter curtains
- If you use mirror lockup with the self-timer for a bulb exposure, there will be a shutter release sound when you release the shutter button during self-timer operation, This is not the sound of the shutter release
