How to use M (Manual Exposure) with E-TTL Autoflash?

Solution

When you want to set the sync speed and the aperture, use manual exposure. The E-TTL auto flash system controls the flash output according to the aperture you set.
Set the camera to M (manual exposure) and set the desired aperture and sync speed anywhere from bulb to the camera's maximum sync speed

Check that the FP flash switch is set to the green dot (normal sync)

Press the shutter button halfway to focus the subject

Check the information in the viewfinder and press the shutter button completely to take the picture
