The fax machine will receive faxes automatically in FaxTel Mode and will ring to alert you of an incoming phone call. While the fax is alerting you of the incoming phone call, you must answer the call on the fax machine's handset.
In order to answer on an extension telephone connected to the fax machine, increase the ring count on the fax to provide you enough time to answer the call. By default, the fax will ring twice before it picks up the call. Click here to change the ring count. The instructions below illustrate how the devices should be connected.
-
Connect a line cord from the telephone line wall jack to the [L] jack on the device.
-
Connect a line cord from the extension telephone port on the device to an external telephone.

-
Place the handset in its cradle and then connect it to the [Handset] jack.
