Description

Clean the scanning area when vertical black or white lines appear when copying or faxing.

Solution

Cleaning the Scanner Components

Caution: Do not use tissue paper, paper towels, or similar materials for cleaning.

  1. Press <Maintenance>.

  2. Use to select [CS CLEANING].

  3. Press <Start>.

  4. Open the Printer Cover.

  5. With the Scanning Unit Cover (A) lifted, clean the white strip opposite the top of the Scanning Unit Cover (A) (also referred to as Scan Glass) and the White Reference Sheet (B). Wipe with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water, then wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth and wring out excess water.



    Caution : Do not bend the white reference (B).



  6. When you are finished, lower the Scanning Unit Cover and then close the Printer Cover. Be sure to close the Printer Cover until it locks into place.
