Remote Receiving

If you have a telephone connected to the fax machine, you can receive a fax manually by entering a two-digit ID code from the extension phone. This is particularly convenient if you are using a cordless phone and you answer the phone away from the machine.

To use this feature, the telephone (base unit of cordless phone) must be plugged into the extension phone jack of the fax machine. Remote receive must be enabled. This is the default setting for the fax.

Use the telephone to receive manual calls as follows:

1. When you answer a call and hear a long beep or silence, a fax is being sent.
   
   
2. Enter the two-digit ID code on your telephone. Wait for five seconds, then hang up. The fax machine then begins receiving the document.
   
   Note: By default, the fax machine's remote receive ID code is '25'.
