FIG.1 or Document Jam / Misfeed in the Document Tray

When a document jams or misfeeds in the document tray, open the printer cover and read label [FIG. 1] inside the cover. If the fax does not feed out the document after you press [Start/Copy] for a few seconds, follow the procedures below to remove the document.

Note: You do not need to unplug the fax when clearing document jams.

1. Press <Start/Copy> for 2 seconds to eject the document from the document tray.
   
   
2. If the document does not eject, open the printer cover by gently pulling it towards you.
   
   1. If a multi-page document is loaded, remove the non-jammed documents from the document tray.
      
      
      
   2. Do not try to pull the jammed document out without opening the printer cover since you may tear or smudge the document.
      
      
3. Push the document release button on the left-side panel of the fax.
   
   
   
   
4. Gently remove the document by pulling it in either direction.
   
   
   
   
5. When you are finished, close the printer cover.
   Be sure to close the printer cover until it locks into place, or the fax will not function properly.
   
   
6. Press <Stop>. The fax returns to standby mode.
