Printing onto Custom Size Paper

Solution

This section describes how to print onto custom size paper from the printer driver.
IMPORTANT
  • To change the default print settings, you must log on to your computer as a member of the Administrators or Power Users group.
NOTE
  • The display may differ according to the operating system, as well as the type and version of the printer driver.

Registering Custom Paper

When using custom paper sizes in the printer, you need to register paper sizes beforehand. You can specify name, width, and height of each custom paper size. New custom paper sizes you registered are displayed in the [Paper List].

1. Click [ ] (Start) -> [Devices and Printers].

NOTE
  • For Windows Vista, click [ ] (Start) -> [Control Panel] -> [Printer].
  • For Windows XP Professional, click [Start] -> [Printers and Faxes].
  • For Windows XP Home Edition, click [Start] -> [Control Panel] -> [Printers and Other Hardware] -> [Printers and Faxes].
  • For Windows 2000, click [Start] -> [Settings] -> [Printers].

2. Right-click the icon for the machine -> click [Printing preferences] -> [Canon L100/L150/L170 UFRII LT].

NOTE
  • For operating systems other than Windows 7, right-click the icon of the printer whose settings you want to configure -> click [Printing preferences].

3. Click [Page Setup].

4. Click [Custom Paper Size].

5. Specify [Name of Custom Paper Size] and [Width] and [Height] of paper size.

NOTE
  • You need to enter the values as [Height] longer than [Width] for paper size regardless of paper orientations.

6. Click [Register].

7. Click [OK].

Selecting Custom Paper When Printing from an Application

NOTE
  • Printing methods may differ depending on the applications you are using. For details, see the instruction manuals provided with the application software.

1. Open the document you want to print from the application.

2. Select [Print] from the [File] menu.

3. Select your printer from [Name] -> click [Preferences] (or [Properties]).

4. Click [Page Setup].

5. Select custom paper sizes from [Page Size] and [Output Size] you registered.

6. Click [OK].

7. Click [Print] (or [OK]).

Printing begins.

Precautions When Printing onto Custom Size Paper

NOTE
  • Registered custom paper sizes can be used with all printers installed on the computer you are using.
  • Select [Custom [Name Fixed]] when you have created a custom paper size in an application.
  • To use local paper sizes such as Government Letter, select [Custom [Name Fixed]] from [Page Size] and [Output Size].
  • Some print functions may be unavailable when printing on paper sizes other than standard.
  • When registering a paper size in the properties dialog box of a Windows print server, set the margins between 5.0 mm (0.19 inches) and 50.0 mm (1.96 inches).
  • If you select [Device Settings] tab -> [Detailed Settings] -> [Display Also Custom Paper Sizes Not Included in This Driver], you can register custom paper sizes not defined in the printer driver.
  • Included in This Driver], you can register custom paper sizes not defined in the printer driver.
  • Custom paper sizes that can be set differ from printer model to printer model. For details about supported custom paper sizes and sources, refer to the manual supplied with the printer.
  • The available ranges of custom paper sizes are as follows.
