Print the Nozzle Check Pattern on a PIXMA PRO-100

Description

Learn how to print and examine the nozzle check pattern, to check the print quality on a PIXMA PRO-100 printer.

Solution

Follow these steps to print the nozzle check pattern:

  1. Turn the printer ON.

  2. Load one or more sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the rear tray.
    Note The manual feed tray isn't available for the nozzle check pattern print.

  3. Gently open the paper output tray and pull out the output tray extension. If the inner cover is open, close it.

  4. Hold down the RESUME/CANCEL button until the POWER lamp flashes white twice, then immediately release it.

  5. The nozzle check pattern prints. Don't perform any other operations until the printer completes the task.

  6. Examine the nozzle check pattern.


 

Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern

Examine the nozzle check pattern, and clean the print head if necessary.

Check if there are horizontal white streaks in the pattern (1) and pattern (2).



(A) Number of sheets printed so far
 

If there are horizontal white streaks in the pattern (1) or if a color is missing entirely:
Cleaning the nozzles of the ink group 1 (PC, M, Y, or PM) is required.
Select the ink group to clean using the computer.

(B) Good
(C) Bad (horizontal white streaks are present)


If there are horizontal white streaks in the pattern (2) or if a color is missing entirely:
Cleaning the nozzles of the ink group 2 (C, BK, LGY, or GY) is required.
Select the ink group to clean using the computer.

If there are horizontal white streaks in the pattern (1) and pattern (2) or if any colors are missing entirely:
Cleaning the nozzles of all ink colors is required.

Note The total number of sheets printed so far is shown in increments of 50 sheets on the printout of the nozzle check pattern.
