Follow this procedure to load paper / envelope in the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF):

Open the Paper Support tray (1), then pull out the extension (2).

Pinch and slide the paper guide to the left (3).

Fan paper and align all four corners.

Load a few sheets of letter or A4-sized paper (print side facing up) into the ASF (1).

Pinch and adjust the paper guide to the width of the stack (2).
Use the following tips to load paper.

<1> Open the paper feed slot cover and pull out the paper support.
<2> Align the right edge of the paper to the cover guide with the paper's print side facing up.
Note:
Make sure to set paper lengthwise (portrait).
If credit card sized paper is loaded landscape by mistake, a paper jam may occur.
<3> Pinch and slide the paper guide to the paper's left side.
<4> Press the Open button.
<5> Pull out the extension.
<6> Ensure the ASF light is on.

Note:
- If the Cassette light is on, press the <Feed Switch> button so the ASF light comes on.
- If ASF light does not come on even after pressing the Feed Switch button, Paper Source in the printer driver may be set to a setting other than Feed Switch.
