Set TX Start Speed to a slower setting.
Solution
Change TX Start Speed Setting
If phone line conditions are less than perfect, transmission (send) and reception (receive) problems can occur. Decrease the transmission (TX or send) speed if fax transaction error message appear frequently on the LCD.
- Press the <FAX> button to enter the Fax menu.
- Press the <Menu> button.
- Press the left or right arrow button to select [Maintenance/settings], then press <OK>.
- Press the left or right arrow to select [Device settings], then press <OK>.
- Press the up or down arrow to select [FAX settings] (item <1>), then press <OK>.
- Press the up or down arrow to select [TX settings] (item <2>), then press <OK>.
- Press the up or down arrow to select [TX start speed], then press <OK>.
- The factory default TX (receive) Speed is 33600 bps.
You can select from the following TX Speeds:
- 14400 bps
- 9600 bps
- 7200 bps
- 4800 bps
- 2400 bps
- Press the up or down arrow to select the desired TX Speed, then press <OK>.
- Press the <Stop/Reset> repeatedly to return to Fax standby mode.
