Downloading images using the Scanner and Camera Wizard

Windows XP users can use the PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) function. The PTP function allows you to download JPEG images stored on a CF card in the camera to your computer without having to start the software provided on the SOLUTION DISK.

1. Set the camera's communication mode to [PTP].
   
   • Set [Communication] in menu option to [PTP].
   • Press the <MENU> button to clear the LCD monitor display.
   • When you have finished, switch the camera off.

2. Connect the camera to the computer and set the camera's power switch to <ON>.
   

   • The Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box appears.

   
   
   

3. Download images as directed in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.
   

   • The Choose Pictures to Copy window appears in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.
   • If you are using Windows Me, the Choose Pictures window appears in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.
     

4. Select the image(s) you wish to download and click the 'Next' button.
   

5. • To select multiple images, press and hold the <Ctrl> or <Shift> key on the keyboard while clicking on images. To select all the images, click the 'Select All' button.
   • The Picture Name and Destination window appears in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.
   • If you are using Windows Me, the Save Pictures window appears in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.

   
   
   

6. Specify a file name and save location and click the 'Next' button.
   

   • The selected images will be downloaded to the specified destination folder and the other option window appears in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.
   • If you are using Windows Me, when you specify the file name and destination folder and then click the 'Finish' button, the images are downloaded and the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box closes.
   • If you do not specify a save location, a new folder is created in the My Picture folder (the My Pictures folder in Windows Me) and the images are saved in the new folder.
     
     

7. Select the 'Nothing. I'm finished working with these pictures' radio button and click the 'Next' button.
   

   • The Completing the Scanner and Camera Wizard window appears in the Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box.
     
     

8. Click the 'Finish' button.
   

   • The Scanner and Camera Wizard dialog box closes.
