An ink tank that was once empty is installed. Replace the ink tank.

Printing under this situation may damage the Print Head because the ink level cannot be determined. Printing with an empty ink tank may damage the printer. Canon shall not be liable for any printer malfunction or damage caused by refilled ink tanks.

If you want to continue printing with the refilled ink tank installed, press and hold the <RESUME/CANCEL> button for at least five seconds, and then release it. With this operation, releasing the function for detecting the remaining ink level is memorized.

Note: This operation will disable the ink level status detection for that ink tank until the tank is replaced with a new Canon tank. If the function for detecting the remaining in level is disabled, the ink tank is displayed in gray on the printer status monitor (Windows) and Canon IJ Printer Utility (Macintosh).
