Description

File names beginning with _MGxxx indicate that the image was shot in Adobe RGB parameters. Images shot in sGB will read IMGxxx.

Solution

The _MGxxx prefix of an image indicates that the Adobe RGB color profile was used when the image was shot. This allows for easy separation of the color space settings used to capture the image. This is not a malfunction of the camera and is completely normal intended operation. Images captured in the SRGB color profile or color space will have the file names starting with the IMGxxx prefix.
