Solution

Setting the Scanning Function in the [Scanners and Cameras] Folder (Windows 98/Me/2000: the [Scanners and Cameras Properties] Dialog Box)

You can change the action for [SCAN] when start scanning.

  1. Open the [Scanners and Cameras] folder (Windows 98/Me/2000: the [Scanners and Cameras Properties] dialog box)..
    On Windows XP:
    Click [Start] on the Windows task bar, select [Control Panel], [Printers and Other Hardware], then [Scanners and Cameras].

    On Windows 98/Me/2000:
    Click [Start] on the Windows task bar, select [Settings], [Control Panel], and double-click on the [Scanners and Cameras] icon.


  2. Click the corresponding scanner driver name or icon.


  3. From the [File] menu, click [Properties]. (Windows 98/Me/2000: Click [Properties].)
    You can also open the scanner properties dialog box by right-clicking the corresponding scanner driver icon and selecting [Properties] from the pop-up menu. (Only for Windows XP).


  4. Specify an action for [SCAN].

    On Windows Me/XP:
    Select the [Events] tab, select [Scan] in the [Select an event] pull-down list, select the operation for [SCAN] in [Actions], then click [OK].


    On Windows 98/2000:
    Select the [Events] tab, select [Scan Button] in the [Scanner events] pull-down list, select the operation for [SCAN] in [Send to this application], then click [OK].



  5. Click [OK].


  6. Restart your computer. (Only for Windows Me/2000.)


    If the settings you specified in the scanner property dialog box do not work immediately, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable, or restart your computer.
