Procedure for setting Exposure Compensation PowerShot S2 IS and S3 IS

Solution

Adjusting the Exposure

This function is not available in AUTO mode.

Adjust the exposure compensation setting to avoid making the subject too dark when it is backlit or shot against a bright background.

1. Press the <FUNC.> button.

2. Select * (+/- (Exp.)) using the up or down arrows on the omni selector.

* The current setting is displayed.

3. Select a setting using the left or right arrow on the omni selector.

  • The settings can be adjusted in 1/3 steps in the range of -2EV to +2EV.
  • You can shoot the image right after selecting settings by pressing the shutter button. This screen will appear again, once the image is shot.

4. Press the <FUNC.> button.

  • To cancel the exposure compensation, return the setting to using the left or right arrows on the omni selector.

5. Shoot the image.
