Changing the Video System Setting. PowerShot Digital Cameras.

The video output signal can be switched (NTSC or PAL) to accommodate different regional standards. The default setting varies between regions.

- NTSC: Japan, U.S.A., Canada, Taiwan, etc.

- PAL: Europe, Asia (excluding Taiwan), Oceania, etc.

If the video system is set incorrectly, the camera output may not display properly.

  1. Press the <ON/OFF> button until the power lamp lights.
  2. Press the <MENU> button. The (Rec.) or (Play) menu is displayed.
  3. Use the or button to select the (Set up) menu.
  4. Use the or button to select 'NTSC/PAL' and press the <FUNC./SET> button.
  5. Use the or button to select NTSC (in USA), and press the <FUNC./SET> button.
