Setting the Time Zone, Date and Time - Elura 40MC and Elura 50
Set the time zone, date and time when you first start using your camcorder, or when you have replaced the backup battery. The date and/or time display forms part of the data code. Before you start setting the date and time, select your home time zone from the menu.
Setting the Time Zone/Daylight Saving Time
- Press the <MENU> button to open the menu.
- Turn the selector dial to select [SYSTEM] and press the <SET> button.
- Turn the selector dial to select [T.ZONE/DST] and press the <SET> button.
- The time zone setting appears (see table below).
- The camcorder's time zone is factory-preset to New York. If you are at another time zone, select your time zone first and daylight saving time (DST) setting if necessary.
- Move up or down the list of time zones with the selector dial. Select the option that represents your time zone and press the <SET> button.
- If you are now in daylight saving time, select the time zone with the daylight saving time mark 
next to the area.
Setting the Date and Time
- Select [D/TIME SET] and press the <SET> button.
- The year display starts to flash.
- Turn the selector dial up and down to change the year. Press the <SET> button to move to another part of the display.
- The next part of the display starts flashing.
- The date can be set to any year between 2002 and 2030.
-Set the month, day, hours and minutes in the same way.
- Press the <MENU> button to close the menu and to start the clock.

- Once you have set time zone, date and time, you do not need to reset the clock each time you travel to another time zone. Just set the time zone to the one of your destination, and the camcorder automatically adjusts the clock.
- If you press the <MENU> button in the middle of setting the date and time, you leave the menu, and the clock starts.
- If you press the <SET> button after setting the minutes you can set the date and time again from the start.
