How to do the Print Head Alignment

If diagrams or ruled lines are misaligned, the print head alignment is required. The print head alignment can be performed automatically or manually. If the automatic print head alignment does not work, adjust the print head manually.

Automatic print head alignment

1. Ensure that the printer is powered on and extend the paper output tray. (Confirm that the paper thickness lever is set to the left.)

2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder.

3. Press the <Menu> button.

4. Use the <left / right> cursor button to select Maintenance/settings, then press the <OK> button.

5. Use the <left / right> cursor button to select Maintenance, then press the <OK> button.

6. Use the <up / down> cursor button to select Auto head align, then press the <OK> button.

7. Press the <up / down> cursor button to select 'Yes', and press the <OK> button. The printer prints the head alignment sheet, and the print head position is adjusted automatically.

Manual print head alignment

1. Do step 1 to 5 in Automatic print head alignment above.

2. Use the <up / down> cursor button to select Manual head align, then press the <OK> button.

3. Press the <up / down> cursor button to select 'Yes', and press the <OK> button. The printer prints the head alignment sheet.

When the head alignment sheet is printed, use the <up / down> cursor button to select 'Yes' and press the <OK> button.

When the head alignment sheet is not printed, use the <up / down> cursor button to select No and press the <OK> button to print the sheet.

4. From each column, select the pattern which has the least visible streak.

5. Use the <up / down> cursor button to select the column to adjust.
