Setting Digital Zoom - PowerShot A610 and A620 and A700
When the LCD monitor is on, you can shoot zoomed images using the combined digital and optical zooms.
Stills: zoom up to approximately 16 times Movies (Standard): zoom up to approximately 16 times
Turn on the camera and set the mode switch to .
Press the <DISPLAY> button to turn the LCD monitor on (if necessary).
Turn the shooting mode dial to any Shooting mode except for .
Press the <MENU> button to open the menu.
In the [ (Rec.)] menu, select [Digital Zoom].
Select [On] using the or button and press the <MENU> button.
Press the zoom lever toward and hold it. - The lens will zoom to the maximum optical telephoto setting and stop (when shooting still images). - Release the lever and press it toward again to further zoom the image digitally. - Press the lever toward to zoom back out.
Shoot the image.
The digital zoom cannot be used when the LCD monitor is off or when the camera is set to Postcard Printing mode.
Images become coarser the more they are digitally zoomed.
Since camera shake may become a factor when using the digital zoom, the use of a tripod is recommended.
