Loading Envelopes in the Multi-Purpose Feeder-ICMF 5500

Solution

Loading Envelopes in the Multi-Purpose Feeder

Use the multi-purpose feeder when you want to copy or print an envelope one by one.

The recommended envelopes are COM10, MONARCH, DL, and ISO-C5. Using other envelopes may affect the quality of the printout.

  1. Slide the slide guides to fit the size of the envelope you want to load.

If the slide guides are not adjusted correctly for the size of the envelope, the quality of your printouts may be adversely affected

  2. Insert the envelope straight in the multi-purpose feeder with the print side up and the right edge (i.e., closer to the stamp) first.

If the envelope to be loaded has a flap on the short edge, this edge must enter the machine first. Not loading it this way will result in a paper jam..

  3. Specify the paper size.
Press <Menu>, then <> or <> to select [COMMON SETTINGS], then press <Set>.
Press <> or <> to select [PAPER SETTINGS], press <Set>, use <> or <> to select [PAPER SIZE], then press <Set>.
Press <> or <> to select [ENVELOPE], press <Set>, press <> or <> to select the envelope type (COM10, MONARCH, DL, or ISO-C5), then press <Set>..

You can select [FREE SIZE] instead of [ENVELOPE] as the paper size. When [FREE SIZE] is selected, you can specify vertical and horizontal sizes of the envelope in the following ranges:
    - [VERTICAL SIZE]: 127mm to 356mm (5" to 14")
    - [HORIZONTAL SIZE]: 76mm to 2116mm (3" to 8 1/2")

  4. Specify the paper type.
Press <Menu>, <> or <> to select [COMMON SETTINGS], then press <Set>.
Press <> or <> to select [PAPER SETTINGS], press <Set>, use <> or <> to select [PAPER TYPE], then press <Set>.
Press <> or <> to select [HEAVY PAPER] or [HEAVY PAPER H]*, then press <Set>.
*If print fixing is not sufficient when printed with [HEAVY PAPER] selected, select [HEAVY PAPER H].
