Use Stamp Printing (Windows)

Stamp your documents with important messages like "IMPORTANT" or "SECRET." The driver includes several standard stamp messages but you can add new ones as necessary by registering them with the driver.

Note: The Stamp Printing function is not available when any of the following functions or options is selected:

  • Borderless Printing

  • Advanced Printing Features is disabled (In Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7). It is easy to confirm whether background printing is in progress. Open the printer driver's Properties dialog box, select the Advanced tab and makes sure that 'Enable advanced printing features' is checked.

  • Stamp / Background printer are not available when using the the XPS printer driver in Windows Vista or Windows 7.

  1. Access the printing preferences by opening the printer Preferences

    For Windows 7
    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and then select 'Devices and Printers'.
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences' from the menu that appears.

    For Windows Vista
    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then click on 'Printers'. Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences' from the menu that appears.

    For Windows XP Home Edition

    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel,' 'Printers and Other Hardware,' and 'Printers and Faxes.'
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.


    For Windows XP Professional Edition

    • Click 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Printers and Faxes.'
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Properties' from the menu that appears.


    For Windows 2000

    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Settings,' then 'Printers.'
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Properties' from the menu that appears.

  2. Click the Page Setup tab.

  3. Click the Stamp/Background button.




  4. The window below will appear:



    (1) Select the 'Stamp' check box.

    (2) Click the Define the Stamp button to select the stamp you wish to be printed.

    (3) Select the 'Place stamp over text' check box to print a stamp placed directly over the text.

    (4) Select the 'Stamp first page only' check box to print stamp only on the first page of document.

  5. Click 'OK', and, then 'OK again on the next page.
