Trap Focus
Definition:
This is the system used to take a picture by automatic shutter release when a subject comes into pre-focused position.
Description:
This is one of the techniques which is so-called "Pre-focused Shooting." Set the AF Mode to "Trap Focus" in the Manual Focus Mode. Decide the distance from the camera to a position where a subject is supposed to come into, and hold the said measured distance by setting the cable switch to the "ON" position. When a subject comes in the AF target and is focused, the shutter is released and a photograph is taken.
Or, there is a camera which will be ready for "Trap Focus", by leaving a finger after the release button is fully depressed, without using a cable switch.
