Set Automatic Duplex Printing (Mac OS X)
Procedures for setting automatic duplex printing are as follows.
Notes:
- Confirm that the cable is connected (if using a USB connection) and the printer is powered on before continuing.
- Make sure that the actual size of the paper is suitable for automatic duplex printing.
The sizes of media suitable for automatic duplex printing are A4, Letter, A5, and B5.
- Due to OS limitations, multiple copies cannot be printed when 'Automatic Duplex Printing' is selected.
- To open the Print dialog, open the file to print, and select 'Print' from the File menu.

- In the Printer pop-up menu, select the printer you are using.

- In the third pop-up menu from the top, select Duplex Printing & Margin.

* The image is an example using the iP_4000 model.
- Check 'Automatic Duplex Printing'.

* The image is an example using the iP_4000 model.
Note: The sizes of media suitable for automatic duplex printing are A4, Letter, A5, and B5.
- Select the proper options for the following:
(5-1) Print Area: In duplex printing, the printable area of the top of the paper is smaller than normal printing by 2 mm. To keep the entire print data within the printable area for printing, select 'Use reduced printing'. To print in regular size, select 'Use normal-size printing'.
(5-2) Stapling side: Select one of the following for the location of the staple:


(5-3) Margin for stapling: Specify the margin between 0 and 30 mm.

- Click 'Print' to perform printing. Note: After printing on the first side of the paper, the printer will stop printing temporarily to allow the ink to dry. Do not touch the printed surface.

* The image is an example using the iP_4000 model.
- Settings for duplex printing are completed.
