Enable/Disable Auto Power (Mac OS X)

This feature allows you to turn the printer off when no data is sent to the printer for a certain period of time. The Auto Power On function automatically turns on the printer upon receipt of print data from the computer.

Access the Auto Power settings by performing the following:

  1. Open the IJ /BJ Printer Utility from the HD>Library>Printers>Canon>BJ Printer>Utilities folder.

  2. Select your printer from the list and click the 'Maintenance' button.

  3. Select 'Custom Settings' from the drop down menu.

Auto Power Off
  1. Check the Auto Power Off checkbox.



  2. Select time from the pop-up menu.

  3. Make sure the printer is powered on, then click 'Send'.

  4. Confirm the displayed message, then click 'Quit'.

    Note: After this setting is made, the printer will turn off automatically if print data has not been received from the computer for a specified period of time.

Auto Power On

  1. Check the Auto Power On checkbox.



  2. Make sure the printer is powered on, then click 'Send'.

  3. Confirm the displayed message, then click 'Quit'.

    Note: After this setting is made, the printer will turn on automatically upon receipt of print data from the computer.
