Description

Verify infrared devices are within the correct range of one another

Solution

Verify Infrared Devices are Within the Correct Range of One Another

Set the infrared port of the computer, PDA or cell phone to face that of the printer at a distance of less than 80 cm (31.5 inch). (When using a cell phone, set at a distance of less than 20 cm (7.9 inch).) However, the communicable distance may vary, depending on the computer, PDA, or cell phone.

The effective angle of the printer's infrared port is about 10 degrees from the central axis in vertical and horizontal directions.

For details, see the manual for the computer, PDA, or cell phone.

<3> Within an effective distance of 80 cm (31.5 inch) (When using a cell phone, within 20 cm (7.9 inch)) with no obstacles
<4>Effective angle (10 degrees from the central axis in vertical and horizontal directions)

Notes:

  • Remove any obstacles between the infrared ports of the printer and the computer, PDA, or cell phone, as data transmissions will be interrupted.
  • Check the orientation and positions of the infrared ports of the printer and the computer, PDA, or cell phone to maintain a solid connection.
