How to send images by e-mail using ZoomBrowser EX 4.x

When using ZoomBrowser EX, images can be easily compressed, and sent by e-mail using the e-mail application.

1. In the Browser area on the right side, click to select the images to send.

Note: To select two or more images, while holding the Shift key, click the images.
Note: Selecting a folder which contains multiple images is possible. Also, selecting multiple folders is possible.


2. From Tasks, select 'Internet', and select 'Email Images'.

Note: 'Selecting Send Images by Email' from the Internet menu performs similar operations.


3. The Change the images size and quality dialog box is displayed. In this dialog box, the settings below can be performed.

The Total size of original images section shows the total size of the selected image files.

To send the selected images without changes, select 'Send images unchanged', and to send them after compression, select 'Resize and compress images into JPEG format'.

Note: When the file size exceeds 300KB, selecting the latter is recommended.

When 'Resize and compress images into JPEG format' is selected from the above procedures, select appropriate settings in the Resize images and Image quality sections.

  • In the Resize image section, the images' height and width can be reduced.
  • In the Image quality section, the level of image quality can be set between high and low to reduce the file size. When lowering the image quality, the compression ratio is increased.

To display the file size after compression in the Total size of changed images section, click 'Apply'. To confirm the images after compression, click 'View Images'.

Note: If the file size after compression is larger than the original file size, the following message is displayed. Click 'OK' to change the settings in the Resize image and Image quality sections.

When the settings to this point are complete, click'Next'.

4. The Send the email or save it to send later dialog box is displayed. Select either 'Create a new email' or 'Save the images in a folder to send through an email program that does not support MAPI'.



When 'Create a new email' is selected:

1. In the Send the email or save it to send later dialog box, click 'Finish'.

2. The email application software will launch, the New Message dialog box will be displayed. Confirm that the selected image files are attached.

Ex. The image below shows Outlook Express 6.

3. Settings are complete

Note: If email application software supporting MAPI is not installed, the following message is displayed. Click 'OK', and select 'Save the images in a folder to send through an email program that does not support MAPI'.



When 'Save the images in a folder to send through an email program that does not support MAPI' is selected:

1. To specify the folder to which to save the image files, click 'Browse'.

2. In the Browse For Folder dialog box, specify the folder to save to, and click 'OK'.



Note: The folder name should not contain double-byte characters.

3. When the folder to save to has been set, in the Send the email or save it to send later dialog box, click 'Finish'.

4. The image files will be saved to the specified folder.

5. Setting is completed.
