Install the printer driver using the prepackaged CD - Easy Install (Windows)

Note: Windows 7 users - The drivers and applications on the Setup CD-ROM were written before the release of Windows 7 and are not compatible. Please download and install the appropriate Windows 7 driver and applications from our Web site.

The printer driver installation can be done using the prepackaged CD-ROM Easy Install and Custom Install methods. Easy Install allows all the necessary software programs to be installed easily and overwrites older versions of the printer driver, on-screen manual, and other application software.

*The directions for Easy Installation follow.

* The screenshots below are taken from an iP90 install. The screens will be the same for the other iP printers with the exception of the Setup Utility which applies only to portable printers.

Note: Before installing the printer driver, confirm that the printer is powered OFF.

1. Insert the Canon CD in the computer.
   
   
2. After the CD-ROM automatically starts and displays the following window, click 'Easy Install'.
   
   Note: If the CD-ROM does not start automatically, double-click the Msetup4.exe file in the CD drive.
   
   
   
   
3. In the Easy Install window, click 'Install'.
   
   
   
   
4. Click 'Yes' in the License Agreement window to start Easy Install. Clicking 'No' will prevent you from completing installation.
   
   
   
   
5. First, the on-screen manual will be installed.
   
   
   
   
6. Next, the printer driver will be installed.
   
   
   
   
7. During the printer driver installation, the Printer Connection window will be displayed. Connect the printer to the computer, then turn on the printer.
   
   
   
   
8. When the printer driver installation is completed, the **Setup Utility will be installed.
   
   
   
   ** Setup Utility applies only to portable printers
   
   
9. When the Setup Utility installation is completed, the bundled application programs will be installed.
   
   Note: The message that describes the application software being installed will be displayed. (The example below shows the description of PhotoRecord.)
   
   
   
   
10. When the installation is completed, the Installation Results window will be displayed. Confirm the results, and click 'OK'
    
    
    
    
11. The window to display the on-screen manual will be displayed. Confirm the contents and click 'Next'.
    
    
    
    
12. The print head alignment window will be displayed. Click 'Next'.
    
    
    
    
13. Click 'Restart'.
    
    
    
    Note: The 'Restart' button may be displayed as 'Exit'. If 'Exit' is displayed, click 'Exit'.
    
    This completes Easy Install.
