Solution

Install the i80 printer driver using the prepackaged CD (Bluetooth)

Note:  Before installing the printer driver, confirm that the printer is powered off.

  1. Insert the CD into the computer.

  2. The installer starts automatically and the following window is displayed.

  3. Select Print Driver on the left sideof the window and click 'Install' on the right side.

    Note:  Click Readme to refer to notices on installation.



  4. The manual is installed first.



  5. The Printer Port dialog box is displayed.

  6. Confirm that the printer and computer are connected, and turn the printer ON.



    Note:  To display the explanation about the printer port, click Help.

  7. The Printer Port window will be displayed.  Upon automatic recognition, the file copying starts.  After the file copying is completed, the window will close automatically.



    Note:  It may take a while to recognize the printer automatically.

    Note: If the automatic recognition is not completed, re-connect the printer cable again.  If you want to select the port, check Select 'Printer Port', and click 'Manual Selection'.

  8. When the printer driver installation is completed, the message below is displayed. Click 'OK'.



  9. Installation of the manual, printer driver, Setup Utility installation, and the system setting changes are completed.

    Note:  If a BJ Raster Printer was previously installed, the following message may appear.



  10. Click 'OK' to restart the system.

  11. Start i80 Setup Utility.  Select 'Start', 'All programs', 'Canon Utility', and 'i80 Setup Utility'. Or double-click the i80 Setup Utility icon on the Desktop. 

    Note:  After i80 Setup Utility installation, the i80 Setup Utility shortcut icon is created on the Desktop.



  12. In the i80 Setup Utility dialog box, click 'Change', in the Bluetooth Settings section.



  13. Enter the passkey (four-digit number) in the Enter Passkey diaog box, and click 'OK'.

    Note:  The default value of the passkey is set to 0000.



  14. Confirm the printer model name in the Bluetooth dialog box. 

    Note:  The printer model name is needed when authenticating a Bluetooth device in the Control Panel's Wireless Link.  When using multiple i80 printers, changing the printer model name is recommended to simplify printer identification. The printer model name can be changed, using up to 24 single-byte characters.



  15. Select 'Start', 'Control Panel', 'Printers and Other Hardware', and 'Wireless Link'.  In the Wireless Link dialog box, click 'Add'. 

    Note:  When using the Classic View on Control Panel, select 'Start', 'Control Panel', and 'Wireless Link'.



  16. In the Bluetooth Connection Wizard dialog box, click 'Next'.



  17. In the Bluetooth Connection Wizard dialog box, select 'Canon i80' and click 'Next'.



  18. In the Bluetooth Connection Wizard dialog box, select 'No. This device does not require authentication before it can be used.' and click 'Next'.



  19. In the Bluetooth Connection Wizard dialog box, select Printing (HCRP) and click 'Next'.



  20. In the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box, select 'Install the software automatic (Recommended)' and click 'Next'.



  21. In the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box, click 'Finish'.



  22. Print Settings for Bluetooth are completed. 

    When printing via a Bluetooth connection, select Canon i80 (Copy 1) as the printer model name. 

    When printing via a USB cable connection, select Canon i80 as the printer model name.
