Instructions to print the nozzle check from the computer.  By printing a nozzle check pattern, you can check whether ink ejects normally from the print head nozzles.  The test is not available directly from the unit and must be completed through the computer.

After confirming that the cable is connected and the printer is powered on, perform the following:

  1. Click Page Setup from the File menu.

  2. Click Utilities.

  3. Select Test Print from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click the Nozzle Check icon.

  5. Click Print Check Pattern.

Note:  When Initial Check Items is clicked, the confirmation items before performing print head cleaning will be displayed.

  6. Nozzle check pattern printing will start. Do not start any other operations until the nozzle check pattern prints completely.

  7. Examine the nozzle check pattern output and perform the following items depending the situation:

    • If no white streaks are visible in the pattern, (example: the left pattern), click Quit to complete nozzle check pattern printing.
    • If white streaks are printed in the pattern, (example: the right pattern), click Cleaning to perform print head cleaning.

Note:  Perform print head cleaning only when necessary, as it consumes ink.

Nozzle Check Pattern Printing is completed.
