In the lower right corner of the desktop (For most Windows setups) the task bar displays items that are currently running for your computer. In many cases other imaging devices such as multi-function printers, scanners, web-cams and the like can interfere with camera communication. By moving the mouse over each of these items a description will display. Any items running that are related to an imaging device may need to be disabled. In most cases right clicking the icon and choosing to <Exit> or <Disable> will end the background running program, process or service. At this point reconnect the device to see if this resolves the issue.
